Uncorked Vintage Academia brings you a unique inside look at the world’s Madonna of grape varieties: Pinot! Joining us as our guest specialist is beloved local pinotphile Malon Lemoins, Certified Sommelier (WSET II) of Blurred Vines.
Pinot has a documented winemaking history dating back to the reign of Philip III—yes, think Ninth Crusade in the 1280s—and it’s also a cultivar known for mutating easily. We’ll use its colorful palette to explore the similarities and differences between Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir.
This is a one-of-a-kind comparative tasting you won’t find anywhere else! We’re pouring boutique, sustainable, and biodynamic producers: some youthful Pinots, some gracefully matured around 10 years old, and even a rare library bottle from the 1960s—just to see how groovy it still is.
